Cabinteely promote forward Jem Campion from under-19s to first-team squad
First Division league leaders Cabinteely have promoted under-19 forward Jem Campion to their first-team squad.
Campion has impressed with the club’s underage set-up in recent season, and he will now link up with Pat Devlin’s squad ahead of the First Division run-in.
Campion joined the club’s under-17 squad ahead of the 2018 campaign, and has played with the club’s under-19s since the beginning of the 2019 season.
The forward recently scored against Shelbourne for Cabinteely’s under-19s last weekend, as the South Dubliners earned a 1-1 draw against their Dublin rivals.
The Green and White’s fell to defeat on Friday evening against local rivals UCD – with both Yoyo Mahdy and Colm Whelan netting to deliver a hammer blow to the First Division pace setters.
The defeat was Cabo’s first in the league since August 2019 – when they were defeated by Galway United at Stradbrook by a goal to nil.
We are delighted to announce that Jem Campion has been promoted from the U19’s, and will be a first team squad member for the rest of the 2020 @SSEAirtricityLg season. He has been allocated number 40. The Green Line continues. pic.twitter.com/s1iMlj6jGB
