Goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Federico Bernardeschi see Juventus to a ninth successive Scudetto

Juventus secured a ninth successive Scudetto thanks to a comfortable 2-0 win over Sampdoria in Turin on Sunday night.

Goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Federico Bernardeschi saw the Old Lady to the title with two games to spare.

Ronaldo missed a second-half penalty as the champions looked to close out another title win before the sending-off of Morten Thorsby finished off the away side’s chances.

Juventus had seen an 11-point lead at the beginning of July shrink to six points as Internazionale kept up the chase but were presented with an opportunity to seal the title with two games to go.

The Portugal captain gave his side the lead in the seventh minute of injury as he finished off a pre-planned free kick routine from Miralem Pjanic.

Bernardeschi turned home a second from Ronaldo’s parried shot before Thorsby was sent off for a second yellow card after following through on Pjanic.
