Watch: Ireland under-21 Conor Masterson scores his first senior goal in dramatic win for QPR

Republic of Ireland under-21 international Conor Masterson has scored his first league goal for Championship side QPR.

Masterson’s close-range strike - his first senior professional strike - opened the scoring for QPR over Millwall – a game that QPR eventually won 4-3.

Fellow Irish compatriot Ryan Manning also got on the scoresheet for Rangers this afternoon as Jayson Molumby’s Millwall saw their hopes of reaching the play-offs fade at the penultimate hurdle.

Masterson reacted quickest to poke home at the back post after the Millwall keeper was unable to handle the initial header from the corner-kick.

Molumby also got his name on the scoresheet but it was in vain as Millwall saw their promotion hopes extinguish at Loftus Road.

Elsewhere in the Championship, Cyrus Christie and Harry Arter both started for Fulham in their 5-3 win over Bristol City.

Meanwhile, Irish international defender Darragh Lenihan featured for Blackburn Rovers as they earned a 4-3 win over Reading.

Last night, Irish under-21 defender Dara O’Shea also netted for West Brom during their defeat away to Huddersfield Town.
