Glenavon sign Sean Ward from Crusaders

Glenavon have confirmed the signing of defender Sean Ward from Crusaders.

The 36-year-old departs Seaview after spending three years with Crues.

Glenavon manager Gary Hamilton revealed shortly after the announcement that his newest signing had signed a pre-contract with Glenavon in January, but won’t be eligible to play for his side until August 1st.

Hamilton is hopeful that the arrival of Ward can instil some winning mentality into his squad and help them to challenge for honours in the near future.

“He’s a player I know a lot about as I played with him at Glentoran. He’s a fit lad and he will bring us the experience and winning mentality we need at the club,” Hamilton told glenavonfc.com.

Ward, who joins on a two-year deal possesses a decent footballing CV to date, boasting league and cup winners medals with former clubs Crusaders, Glentoran and Linfield.
