Revised 2020 League of Ireland fixture list set for released on Monday as FAI Cup draw set to be made

The Football Association of Ireland (FAI) have confirmed that the truncated 2020 League of Ireland season fixture list will be released on Monday evening.

They also confirmed that the draw for the first round of the FAI Cup will take place at 12pm on Monday at FAI HQ in Abbotstown.

The 2020 League of Ireland season is set to resume on July 31st after the Covid-19 pandemic postponed all football activities in March.

As a result, the 2020 League of Ireland season has been cut short to only two rounds of games taking place – including games played to date. Promotion/relegation structures will take place as scheduled.

The revised fixture list will be released on Monday at 6pm. This will take place just a couple of hours after the FAI Cup first round draw will have taken place.

The SSE Airtricity League 2020 season fixtures will be released on Monday, July 13 at 6pm.

The season is set to restart on Friday, July 31 after the COVID-19 pandemic postponed all football activities in March.

Due to the shortened season, the FAI Cup will only have League of Ireland clubs participating in the competition.

All 19 clubs will be involved in the draw with three fixtures set to be drawn out and the remaining 13 clubs set to receive byes. The draw will be live-streamed on the FAI Facebook page at 12pm.
