Northern Ireland international Shane Ferguson signs new contract with Millwall

Northern Ireland International Shane Ferguson has signed a new contract at Championship club Millwall.

Ferguson has played 23 times for the Lions in 2019/20 providing three assists as they sit 11th in the table.

He played 52 times in all competitions during Millwall's 2016/17 promotion season from League one, scoring four times, including a strike in the club's famous 3-0 Emirates FA Cup win over AFC Bournemouth

Ferguson started at the weekend as Gary Rowett's side were held 0-0 at Oakwell against relegation threatened Barnsley and he came closest to breaking the deadlock as he struck the crossbar with a free-kick.

He made his senior debut when he came on as a substitute in a 3–0 friendly defeat to Italy on 6 June 2009 and has gone on to win a further 41 caps for his country.

Meanwhile Republic of Ireland striker Aiden O'Brien has signed a contract at the New Den until the end of the season as the Lions have also tied down deals for Mason Bennett, Jayson Molumby, Ryan Woods and Luke Steele until the campaign is concluded.

Millwall play host to Swansea City this evening at the New Den as they hope to close the gap on the playoff places as they are currently five points behind Cardiff City in sixth.
