Four years ago today, the Republic of Ireland reached the last-16 of the European Championships thanks to a one-nil win over Italy.
This summer, there was a possibility that Ireland would take part in their third European Championships on the spin – however, current circumstances have put that on hold for another while at least.
After qualifying for the 2016 tournament following a playoff win over Bosnia and Herzegovina in November 2015 – the Boys in Green enjoyed the summer of a lifetime in France.
