Watch: Cillian Sheridan open Wisla Plock account against former side Jagiellonia as Polish Ekstraklasa continues its return

Former Republic of Ireland striker Cillian Sheridan scored his first goal for Wisla Plock as the Polish Ekstraklasa saw its second round of games since resuming late last month.

The Cavan native opened the scoring against his former club Jagiellonia midway through the first half with a calm finish past keeper Damian Weglarz.

31-year-old Sheridan had yet to score in his first seven games for his new club since returning for a second stint in Poland during the January transfer window from Israeli club Shmona.

And the former Celtic target man raced clear to latch onto a defence splitting pass just before the half-hour mark and bore down on Weglarz before clinically slotting the ball under the keeper.

Wisla doubled their lead just past the hour as Dominik Furman scored from the plot, but the home team salvaged a point thanks to Bartosz Bida and Jakov Puljic’s strike deep in injury time.
