Former Derry City captain Barry McNamee joins Finn Harps

Former Derry City captain Barry McNamee has joined local rivals Finn Harps ahead of the 2020 Premier Division season.

McNamee joins the Co. Donegal outfit after helping Derry secure Europa League qualification last term.

With over 200 League of Ireland appearances to his name already – the Ramelton native joins his brother Tony at Finn Park for 2020.

After completing his move, McNamee said to Harps’ media team; ““I suppose in many ways it’s been a long time coming.

“There were a few teams in the North that I was close with but in the end, I went with my gut.

“I’ve known Paul for a long time, and I know about the work Ollie puts in, and they’ll leave no stone unturned in helping us push on.”

And manager Ollie Horgan added; “Listen, this is a big signing for the club and hopefully Barry can come in and help us kick on to where we want to be.

“He has plenty of experience and knows what it takes to start moving up the table.”
