DLR Waves unveil link up with TEK as five sign for 2020

Women’s National League side DLR Waves have unveiled a new player pathway with local club TEK United.

Waves have also confirmed the signing of Katie Malone and Iran Echeverria as they confirmed the re-signings of Roisin McGovern, Nadine Clare and Aimee Maher.

Malone joins Graham Kelly’s side from St John Bosco. The 18-year-old forward scored 25 goals last term for the club.

Spanish born Echeverria joins from partner club Shankill. The cross-fit athlete is a forward and will be a welcome boost to the Waves for 2020.

Returning to the fold is Ireland under-19 international McGovern. The defender has committed to the fold for a third year on the spin.

Attacking midfielder Aimee McGrath also returns to the club for 2020 having joined from local underage rivals Greystones.

The 17-year-old will now take part in her second season on the spin for DLR Waves first-team.

And Clare has also committed to the cause for 2020 after coming through the club’s underage player pathway.

After spending two years with the club’s under-17s, she broke into the club’s first-team last term before earning a call-up to the Republic of Ireland under-19 squad.
