Irish under-21 Dara O'Shea pens new long-term deal with West Brom

West Brom have announced that Ireland under-21 defender Dara O’Shea has committed his future to the club by putting pen to paper on a new three-and-a-half-year deal.

The 20-year-old has made good progress this year making his league debut in a 1-1 draw against Brentford in December. Along with playing 90 minutes in both their cups games.

Albion boss Slaven Bili? showed his delight with the deal. "I rate him highly,” he explained.

“Dara is definitely the future but not only that he is the present too - I count on him a lot.

“It’s brilliant for us that he’s committed himself to us but it’s also great for him because I can’t see any better place for him than West Brom.”

The Dubliner who was signed from St Kevin’s Boys in 2016 has gone from strength to strength.

He won Wes Brom’s Premier League Scholar of the Year Award in his first full season, followed it up with a successful loan spell at Exeter City where he played over 30 games and has established himself as an important member of Stephen Kenny’s under-21s.

O’Shea is expected to feature this weekend in the FA Cup 4th round clash with West Ham.
