Republic of Ireland underage international Adam O’Reilly joins Stalybridge Celtic on loan from Preston

Republic of Ireland underage international Adam O’Reilly has joined Manchester based non-league outfit Stalybridge Celtic on loan from Preston North End.

The Cork youngster was part of the Republic of Ireland under-17 team that reached the last eight of the UEFA European under-17 championships in Ireland.

The youngster will spend the rest of the season playing in the 7th tier of English football.

After spending the last season on loan with Hyde United where he appeared four times and scoring once, this move is seen by Preston to be a chance to gain more valuable first team experience.

O’Reilly had spent his youth years with Ringmahon Rangers being coached by his father, before being signed into the Preston North End academy in 2015 after a successful trial.

After a long string of club injuries in December 2018 he made his senior team debut off the bench in a Championship game with Aston Villa which ended in a 1-1 draw.
