First Division Cobh Ramblers bolster ranks with the signings of Devitt and Coughlan

Cobh Ramblers have announced the signing of Lee Devitt and Martin Coughlan ahead of their League of Ireland First Division campaign.

Devitt makes the move from Limerick FC where he spent five seasons and progressed through the club’s underage ranks.

Last year he made the breakthrough with the senior team at Markets Field and made 20 appearances for the Shannonsiders, scoring 5 goals.

“I’m delighted to have signed with Cobh for the coming season and really can’t wait for the season to begin,” the attacker told the club’s website.

“The lads have been great since I arrived and I have settled in very quickly. The past few weeks have gone well and everyone is raring to go.

“I hope to play a big part in helping the club have a successful season this year.”

Coughlan is a product of the Kerry League representative sides and represented them at Under 17 and Under 19 League of Ireland level.

“I am very happy to be signing for Cobh and making the step up to senior football for the first time,”

he said.

“I’ve come across Cobh teams a lot with Kerry and I always liked the club. I feel that we’ve a good chance of doing very well this season.”
