Jason Goodison appointed new Wexford under-15 boss

First Division Wexford have confirmed the appointment of Jason Goodison as the club’s new under-15 manager.

Goodison was a member of the club’s under-15 coaching ticket in 2017 after returning home from an internship with now Premier League club Norwich City.

He has spent the last two years as assistant of the Slaneysiders under-17s before being appointed as the club’s under-15 boss for 2020.

“Right now, I'm really excited to start pre-season, getting in here on the 20th January with the team, working hard and getting them ready to go in March,” Goodison told his club’s media team.

“There's still a long way to go and a lot of hard work to do.

He added; “For clubs like us who aren't blessed with wads of money to go out and buy players the underage structure is even more important.

“Can we develop players so that they are able to play not only at their age group but in 3 or 4 years’ time they'll be able to play at senior level too?

“That has to be our goal and that's what we all work towards.

“We've strong U15, U17 and U19 teams coming through and I think you'll see the hard work been done in the academy level bear fruit on the first team pitch and that will be great for everyone around here.”
