Defender Lyndon Kane signs new two-year deal with Coleraine following injury nightmare

Coleraine defender Lyndon Kane has signed a new two-year deal with the Irish Premiership club, with the option of a third.

The 22-year-old has recently returned to the first team following a nightmare 18 months that saw him undergo three metatarsal operations.

Right-back Kane was a key part of the Derry club’s strong early-season form and he’s flourished since the return of manager Oran Kearney in the summer.

The local boy missed out on his side’s Irish Cup final win over Cliftonville in 2018 with the initial injury and he suffered a setback shortly after his return the following season.

Kane, who made his debut in 2013 against Limavady United, has finally put his injury problems behind him and has rewarded for his hard work with a long-term deal.

“The club is very close to my heart and it’s great to be staying on,” Kane told the club’s official website.

“They’ve done a lot for me over the past few season with my injuries and it’s great to be working under Oran again.

“Hopefully we can add more silverware to the Irish Cup win from 2018.”
