Former Bray Wanderers winger Dylan McGlade departs Blyth Spartans to return to Ireland

Former Longford Town and Bray Wanderers winger Dylan McGlade has departed Blyth Spartans to make his return to Ireland.

The 24-year-old joined Blyth earlier in the transfer window from Bray, returning to the club after spell back home in the League of Ireland.

While at Croft park, McGlade made ten appearances for the club, and also scoring twice for Lee Clark’s side.

In a statement released by Blyth, they confirmed that the Dubliner has left the club due to homesickness.

His final appearance for the club came in the St Stephens’ Day win over Gateshead – where he set up the winner from a set-piece.

Formerly of Middlesbrough, McGlade has played for the Republic of Ireland at under-17,18 and 19 level.

After returning home initially, the Dubliner played for Shelbourne and St Patrick’s Athletic before joining Longford in 2017.

McGlade then departed Longford halfway through the 2017 season, before signing up for Blyth. He then returned to Longford at the start of the 2018 campaign.
