John Ross Wilson joins Bray from Shelbourne

First Division Bray Wanderers have unveiled the signing of full-back John Ross Wilson from Shelbourne.

The full-back joins Gary Cronin’s side after enduring an injury ravaged year at Tolka Park, as his fine start was put to bed by a niggling injury.

The 20 year old could only manage to make seven appearances for Ian Morris’ side – with his final bow for the Reds coming in April.

John Ross played underage football with Kilnamanagh AFC before joining Bray Wanderers' U19 squad for the 2015 and 2016 seasons.

In June 2016 John left Bray to join Bohemians’ U19 side. In November 2017, Bohemians announced that John Ross had been promoted to the Senior Squad for the 2018 season.

After his promotion to the senior squad ahead of the 2018 campaign, Wilson could not add to his solitary league appearance in 2017 with the Gypsies.

He soon joined Shels ahead of their title-winning 2019 campaign – but he was all but confined to the stands for most of the season.

The full-back returns to his former club Bray, joining up with the Seagulls alongside forward Gary Shaw who has also made his return to the Carlisle Grounds in recent weeks.
