Killian Brouder swaps Limerick for Galway ahead of First Division run-in

Galway United have announced the signing of centre back Killian Brouder from fellow First Division rivals Limerick.

The 20-year-old had been ever present for Limerick FC this season and makes the short move up the M18 to the Tribesmen for the remainder of the First Division season.

Brouder began his career with the Super Blues, playing for their underage teams from U16 to U19 before making his league debut in 2016 against Cobh Ramblers.

The defender played in both legs of last season’s playoff final against Finn Harps where Limerick suffered relegation from the Premier Division at the hands of Finn Harps, losing 3-0 on aggregate.

He went straight into Alan Murphy’s squad for Galway United’s trip to City Calling Stadium where they faced Longford Town.

The 20-year-old’s arrival was unable to help his new side secure a positive result in the Midlands, falling away to a heavy four-nil defeat to Longford Town.

Dean Byrne scored twice as Sean Boyd and Joe Manley added the gloss to a fine win for Neale Fenn’s side.
