UCD awarded 3-0 win over Bohemians after ineligible Danny Mandroiu fielded for Gypsies

UCD’s Premier Division 1-0 victory over Bohemians on Monday has been upgraded to a 3-0 win after Bohemians were found to have fielded an ineligible player.

Danny Mandroiu was due to serve a suspension having sustained five yellow cards this season but played the full 90 minutes up front alongside Keith Ward.

Mandroiu was not on the list of suspended players distributed to the media on July 11th, however clubs are issued with specific advice on suspended players.

The Students won the game 1-0 as a result of Yoyo Mahdy’s early strike, however the result has now been increased to 3-0 in line with FAI regulations and Bohemians have been fined.

There will be further fallout from the fixture as a post-match altercation resulted in violent conduct sanctions against UCD keeper Conor Kearns and Bohemians defender Derek Pender.

Kearns incurred the wrath of the visiting fans by celebrating in front of them and Gypsies keeper Pender went head-to-head with the keeper.
