Ireland under-19 striker Ali Reghba leaves Bohs with the Premier League a likely destination

Republic of Ireland under-19 striker Ali Reghba has parted company with Bohemians with Premier League Leicester City his likely destination.

The Dubliner spent time on trial at the English club over the winter break and, though he returned to Bohs for the 2019 season, he looks set to make a permanent switch to the east midlands.

The burly centre forward made his name with a two-goal performance on his debut in a 3-1 win over St Patrick’s Athletic last September, a result that cost Liam Buckley his job.

It wasn’t the first time the former Shels man had stunned the Saints, having scored two goals in quick succession as Bohs under-19s sealed the Enda McGuill Cup at the same venue.

His impressive peformances earned him a place in Tom Mohan’s under-19s squad and he is in contention to travel to Armenia for the European Championships next month.

“Thank you to @bfcdublin for everything over the past [two] seasons,” Reghba wrote in an Instagram post.

“Some big big memory’s [sic] that will stay with me forever and very thankful for all the coaches and staff that have helped me on my journey to where I am now.

“Made some friends for life on the way too #wearebohs.”
