Eleanor Ryan Doyle’s supreme strike for Peamount United was enough to secure a big win at Ferrycarrig Park for James O’Callaghan’s side.
Pea’s winner has sent them eight points clear at the top of the Só Hotels Women’s National League with just ten to play.
Eleanor Ryan Doyle, scoring here sixth of the season saw her effort fly past a helpless Sophie Lenehan in the Wexford Youths goal.
Ryan-Doyle took the ball down brilliantly on the edge of the penalty area before letting fly on the half volley as Lenehan managed to get a hand to it.
However, the 20-year-old ‘keeper was unable to keep the ball out as Peamount took the lead in which their early dominance merited.
Peamount had to hold to hold on during much of the second period with their opening half dominance seeping away.
Rhianna Jarrett went close late on for Youths, but her effort was in vain as Peamount continued on their relentless pursuit of the league title, securing their eleventh win on the spin.
