Bohs striker Dinny Corcoran out for 'a lengthy spell' after fracturing bone in his foot

Bohemians striker Dinny Corcoran faces several months on the sidelines after fracturing a bone in his foot in Friday’s night game with Sligo Rovers.

The striker went down awkwardly nine minutes in the Gypsies’ league defeat to Sligo Rovers at Dalymount Park  and had to be stretchered off.

A total of 18 minutes of injury time was played after Sligo centre-half Dante Leverock and right-back Johnny Dunleavy also required treatment for game-ending injuries.

“X-Rays confirmed that Corcoran fractured a bone in his foot and faces an undetermined but lengthy spell on the sidelines,” read a club statement.

Corcoran is Bohs’ top scorer this season with seven goals, joint second in the league standings alongside Waterford’s Aaron Drinan.

The Portrane man appeared on the Extratime.ie Sportscast last month to discuss his Dublin Derby winner and recent appearance on Channel 4's Countdown.

Bohs are also without Danny Grant, Rob Cornwall, Keith Buckley and Cristian Magerusan for Monday’s EA Sports Cup game with Cork City.

Aaron Barry misses out due to the terms of his loan agreement from City, while Derek Pender and Conor Levingston are both suspended.
