U19 League Semi-Finals Draw Made

The FAI Under 19’s league season is beginning to reach its climax as the draw for the semi-finals were conducted today in Abbottstown under the watchful eye of League Director Fran Gavin.

The victor of the quarter-final tie between Bohemians and Limerick which is still to be played, will receive home advantage in the semi-final against Sligo Rovers.

A solitary goal in the 12th minute from Rovers’ Martin Walsh was enough to send the Bit O’ red into the next round at Cork’s expense in yesterday’s quarter final.

In the other tie, St. Patrick’s Athletic will host current holders of the competition U.C.D in a mini Dublin Derby.

The Students defeated Galway United on home soil by four goals to one in last year’s final and will look to make it back to back titles after they ended Drogheda’s title aspirations with a 2-1 win at the Belfield Bowl in the last round.

Standing in their way are The Saints who saw off Cobh Ramblers after the long trip south to the Cork coast thanks to Michael Cregan’s 25th minute effort.

The dates and times for these semi-final ties are yet to be confirmed, however they will be announced in the coming week.
