Molloy re-signs for Tribesmen

Galway United have further strengthened their squad ahead of the 2015 SSE Airtricity League Premier Division season with the announcement that Jason Molloy has agreed terms to re-sign for the club.

Work commitments and a niggling knee injury meant it was uncertain whether Molloy would be available for the newly promoted outfit, but the 26-year-old winger is now happy to put pen to paer on a new deal.

"It was dragging on for a bit," Molloy admitted.

"I had to sort out a few things with work so I could train properly and I had a bit of a niggling knee injury at the start of pre-season but that's getting sorted now and I'm happy to re-sign with United.

"In 2015, I want to play every game and I want to chip in with a few more goals because I don't think I contributed enough goals last season."

Molloy, who wear the number 11 this season, suffered a slight knee injury that has restricted his pre-season game time but is hopeful of being ready to face Derry City on Friday week, and along with the rest of the squad is eager for the campaign to get underway.

"Hopefully I'll be fit and available for selection and I'll try and help the team whatever way I can," Molloy added.

"The off-season goes on for ages in Ireland, all the hard work has been done. As a squad, we can't wait for the first game of the season now, it's going to be a great occasion at Eamonn Deacy Park and hopefully we can get a massive crowd in for it.

"Squad building was a bit slow but the lads that have come in recently - added onto the players that we had from last season - have really boosted us and it means we've a good squad with a mix of youth and experience. I can't wait to get started with the new season."
