Callaghan and Bohemians part company

Aaron Callaghan has parted company with Bohemians.

Callaghan, in his second year in charge at Dalymount Park, has seen Bohs sink to second last in the Premier Division and the Gypsies are without a league win in 11 games.

“The club has reached this stage with much regret,” said Bohemian president Matt Devaney on Monday evening.

“Aaron has made a great contribution to all facets of Bohemians in his 18 months with us.

“But following a run of disappointing results it was clear some change was needed. We are looking for an injection of new ideas and new urgency.”

Assistant manager Owen Heary will assume the responsibility of caretaker manager with immediate effect.

However Heary will be banned from the dugout for Friday’s clash with Bray Wanderers at the Carlisle Grounds due to the red card he received in the 3-0 defeat to Dundalk.

First team coach Terry Butler will take charge for the clash with the Seagulls.
