Shane’s Biography

Shane developed in the Bohemians Under-21 squad and made his first team debut for the club as substitute in an away game at Longford Town on August 6, 2005. He made six league appearances for the Gypsies before being released at the end of the 2006 season.

In 2007 he signed for UCD and spent two years at Belfield making 24 league appearances and scoring twice. But Shane left the club at the end of 2008 when the Students suffered relegation from the Premier Division.

2009 saw Shane move on to Galway United where he made a further nine league appearances and in 2010 he re-signed briefly for UCD before moving on yet again to sign for Brendan Place at Athlone Town.

Having made only five league appearances in 2010 (three for UCD and two for Athlone) he signed for Mick Cooke at Monaghan United in February 2011.

Cooke, however, promptly upped sticks to take over at Drogheda United and Shane made just 2 starts for new Monaghan boss Roddy Collins, adding six more appearances from the bench. In September 2011 Shane followed Cooke, signing for Drogheda, and made 5 league appearances before the end of the season.

Shane dropped out of league football in 2012 but returned in 2013 when he signed for Aaron Callaghan at the start of the season. However, he made just 2 league appearances for the Gypsies and was released in the summer transfer window.
