Conan’s Biography
Conan started his League of Ireland career at UCD where he was awarded a football Scholarship for 2005/06. Conan scored regularly for UCD's U21 side and made his senior debut in a 1-0 away win at Bray Wanderers on 16 September 2005.
Conan's scored his first senior goal for UCD in his second game, the 2005 League Cup final which UCD lost 2-1 to Derry City. But he failed to reproduce his U21 goal-scoring form and did not stake a regular place in the team until 2007 when he was converted into a wide player.
At the end of 2007 Conan was named UCD's Player of the Year and in January 2008 he moved across the city to sign for Liam Buckley at newly formed Sporting Fingal. Conan was ever present in Fingal's opening league campaign and scored nine times, winning his second Player of the Year award in a row.
The following year Conan topped the Division's scoring charts with 21 strikes as Fingal won promotion to the Premier Division and won the 2009 FAI Cup, beating Sligo Rovers 2-1 in the final at Tallaght Stadium. 2010 saw Conan complete another ever-present season for Fingal, scoring seven times in his 36 league outings. He also competed in Europe for the first time as Sporting lost 6-4 on aggregate to CS Maritimo of Portugal in the Europa League.
In February 2011 Conan was one of the players left without a contract when Sporting Fingal folded suddenly, but by the end of the month he had signed for Alan Mathews at Shelbourne. He scored 13 league goals in 28 league appearances as Shels won promotion to the Premier Division and also made it to his second FAI Cup final, though Shelbourne lost to Sligo Rovers in a penalty shootout. 2012 was not so productive. Conan made 33 league appearances but 12 were as a substitute, and he scored just one league goal. Shortly after the season ended Conan signed for his former Sporting Fingal boss, Liam Buckley, at St Patrick's Ath.
Conan made his Pats debut on 11 February 2013 in a Setanta Cup game at home to Glentoran and he went on to score nine league goals in 33 league appearances (2 as a substitute) as Pats won the title and Conan picked up his first League winners medal.
In 2014 Conan upped his goalscoring form, netting eighteen goals in 33 league appearances as the Saints finished third in the Premier Division. He also picked up another FAI Cup Winners medal when St Pats beat Derry City in the 2014 final. He added a further 29 league appearances in 2015, scoring seven more goals, as the Saints finished fourth in the table. He also won an EA Sports Cup winner's medal when Pats beat Galway United on penalties in the final, a feat repeated in 2016 when Conan scored in St Pats' 4-1 defeat of Limerick FC in the decider.
In November 2016 Conan re-signed with the Saints for the 2017 season. Conan then re-signed for the 2018 season with the Saints.
In November 2018, Conan left Pats and signed with Shelbourne in the First Division.
