Brian’s Biography
Brian played youths football at Verona FC and Cherry Orchard before beginning his League of Ireland career at Shamrock Rovers in 1999. After just one season with the Hoops, Brian moved across the city to Bohemians in the summer of 2000, where he made his debut against FC Kaiserslautern that September. In two years at Dalymount Park, Brian made 27 league appearances.
In the summer of 2002 Brian signed for his ex-boss, Roddy Collins, at Carlisle United and in three years at Brunton Park he made 87 league appearances for the Cumbrian side. But in May of 2005 Brian was released by Carlisle and returned to Ireland.
In July 2005 Brian signed for cash strapped Shamrock Rovers, again linking up with manager Roddy Collins, and made 17 appearances as the club slid to relegation from the Premier Division. In December of 2005 Brian signed for Paul Doolin at Drogheda United where he went on to make 83 league appearances over the next three seasons, winning a league title medal with the club in 2007.
In January 2009 Brian was on the move again, signing for Pat Fenlon at Bohemians where he won another League title in 2009, along with a League Cup winners medal that same year as Bohs overcame Waterford United in the final. In 2010 Bohs narrowly missed out on another league title and at the end of the season, amid controversy surrounding unpaid wages, Brian left the club having made 68 league appearances over two seasons.
Brian then moved to Australia where he played for Ballarat Red Devils, going on to be appointed manager of the club in October 2011.
