Ray’s Biography

Ray played underage football with St Josephs in Sallnoggin before spending two seasons in the Leinster Senior League with TEK United. He was then asked to join Bray Wanderers by Pat Devlin and was a member of Bray Wanderers' 1999 FAI Cup winning team. In all, Ray spent five seasons at the Carlisle Grounds before quitting midway 1999/00 to undergo training as a fireman.

With his training complete, Ray joined Kilkenny City for 2000/01 where he played under manager Pat Byrne. But six months later he was discarded by new boss Joe McGrath and he moved on, signing for Finn Harps.

Ray then joined Kildare County, at the beginning of 2004. He spent two years at Kildare before transferring to Shamrock Rovers in January 2006 and, one year later, in February 2007 he re-joined Bray Wanderers. Ray spent another two seasons with Bray before undertaking his last year of league football at Longford Town in 2009.
