Daryl’s Biography

Daryl is a winger who has been capped at U16 and Schools level by Ireland. In 2010 Daryl was a key member of Salthill Devon's side as they entered their first season of league football, making 23 league appearances for Salthill and scoring twice.

In February of 2011 he signed for Paul Cook at Sligo Rovers having impressed the Liverpudlian while playing on trial for Finn Harps against Sligo in a pre-season friendly. He made his Sligo debut on 9th April, coming on as a substitute against St Patrick's Athletic at the Showgrounds and scored his first goal against Cockhill Celtic in the EA Sports Cup two weeks later.

Daryl made 12 appearances for the Bit O' Red before joining Cork City on loan in July 2011. He made his debut for Cork against Salthill Devon on 8 July and scored his first goal for the club in a 3-1 win over Longford Town two weeks later. By the end of the season Daryl had scored seven league goals for the Rebels as they lifted the First Division title.

On 2nd December 2011 Daryl signed a permanent two year deal at Cork City. Over the next two seasons Daryl scored ten times in 58 league appearances and cemented a reputation as one of the league's brightest young talents. At the end of the 2013 season he left Cork City and signed for Dundalk who had finished second in the 2013 Premier Division table.

Daryl played in all 33 of Dundalk's league matches in 2014, scoring five goals in the process, as Dundalk won the league title on the last day of the season. He was ever-present again in 2015 when Dundalk again won the league title and he scored nine times in the process. He also appeared in both of the Lilywhites' Champions League ties against BATE Borisov, and in the FAI Cup Final, in which they beat Cork City 1-0 after extratime. In 2016 Daryl made 31 league appearances and picked up a third league title as well as scoring twice in European competition as Dundalk became only the second LOI team to qualify for the group stages of the Europa League. In the days after Dundalk's Euro elimination it was announced that Daryl had signed for English Championship side Preston North End.

Daryl made his debut for Preston in the third round of the FA Cup against Arsenal on 7 January 2017 but he left almost two years later to move to Hibernian in Scotland in August 2018. He had two furtehr years with the Edinburgh club before travelling back to England where he joined Wycombe Wanderers in September 2020.

Game time proved thin on the ground at Wycombe and Daryl's next move came in January 2023 when he signed on loan with Stevenage where he played until the end of 2022/23. That summer Daryl returned to Ireland, signing for Stephen O'Donnell at Dundalk on August 1st 2023.
