About Glenn Whelan  

Glenn played youths football with Dublin side Cherry Orchard before joining Manchester City in 2001. His three year spell at the club included a loan spell at Bury FC where he made 13 league appearances before moving to Sheffield Wednesday in 2004. Glenn spent four years at Hillsborough, making close to one hundred and fifty league appearances for them, before joining Stoke City in January 2008, where he has since made over 250 league appearances.

Glenn's senior international debut against Serbia in May 2008 and ahead of the 2016 European Championship, he has amassed 71 caps and 2 goals. He was included in the Republic of Ireland's final squad for the 2016 European Championship.
