Joe’s Biography

Joe was a youth player at Newcastle United and spent a brief period at German side Munich 1860 before returning to England to join Darlington in 2004 where he made 51 league appearances. He was released by the club at the end of the 2005-06 season.

Kendrick joined Torquay United on a short-term deal but left Plainmoor before the end of August without playing a first-team game. In September 2006 Kendrick joined Nationwide Conference side Tamworth, but was released in January 2007 after only making 15 appearances for the club.

In January 2007 Joe joined Workington and made his debut in the Conference North match against Hucknall Town on 27 January 2007. Joe scored his first goal for Workington on 23 March against Nuneaton Borough with a spectacular 40 yard shot in a 2-0 win. On 22nd January 2008. Kendrick was snapped up by League of Ireland champions Drogheda United and he made 33 league appearances that season.

In January 2009 he made the surprising move to Azerbaijan side Neftchi Baku but he returned to the LoI to sign for Sligo Rovers in July, having made 12 appearances for the Asian club. Joe played 18 times for Sligo in the latter half of 2009

At the start of 2010 he signed on for a second spell at Drogheda United and scored three penalties in his 17 league outings. 2011 saw him line out under Pat Devlin at Bray Wanderers but in the summer transfer window he signed for Blue Square Premier side Mansfield Town after a potential deal with Stockport County collapsed at the last minute.

Joe's great uncle Joe Kendrick Sr. was also a notable footballer and played international football for the Irish Free State during the 1920s and 1930s.
