Sean ’s Biography

Sean is a Drogheda born midfielder who started his professional career with Tranmere Rovers in 2001. He then had three years at Sunderland where he scored nine time in 49 league appearances before moving to Doncaster Rovers in the summer of 2005. After two years with the Yorkshire club Sean had another three seasons with Leyton Orient before moving to Wales where he had spells with Aberystwyth Town, Conwy Borough and Bala Town.

Sean signed for Johnny McDonnell at Drogheda United in January 2015 and made his debut for the club in a Leinster Senior Cup tie against Longford Town on 23 February 2015. Sean went on to make 26 league appearances for the club that year, scoring four times, as Drogheda United were relegated on the last day of the season. Despite relegation, Sean re-signed for the club for 2016 and was a key part of their eventual promotion via the 2016 play-offs. He scored six times in 22 league appearances and also, fittingly, scored the penalty against Wexford Youths that gave the Drogs promotion back to the Premier Division. Sean retired from football in July 2017 after making 73 appearances for Drogheda scoring 14 goals.
