Pontus’s Biography
Pontus is a central defender who joined Malmö FF aged just fifteen and graduated through the youth system before making his competitive debut for the club in 2009.
In 2010 the former striker dedicated himself to defence and made 20 appearances as Malmö won the league title. The following season he made a further 28 appearances, eleven of which were in European competition. But it was 2012 when Pontus really established himself in the team, being ever present during the club’s Allsvenskan campaign.
He spent another two seasons in Sweden before joining Serie A side Torino in July 2014 on a free transfer. He was playing with them when he was included in the Sweden squad for the 2016 European Championship.
