Barcelona and PSG won their Champions League quarter-finals to join Olympique Lyonnais and Chelsea in the upcoming semi-finals.

Both sides had won their first legs away from home, with European Champions Barca winning their second leg 3-1 against SK Brann while PSG had a 3-0 victory over Häcken.

For the Spanish champions Bonmati Conca scored one and set up another for Guijarro Gutierrez with Fridolina Rolfo also on the scoresheet in the Estadi Johan Cruyff as Tomine Svendheim scored for the visitors.

Barca will now play WSL champions Chelsea in a replay of last year’s semi-final.

The English side, pushing for a quadruple, will be away in the first leg. The Blues' best ever European result was runners up in 2020/21 – the only time from four ties that they won a semi-final.

Barca knocked out Emma Hayes’ team in last year’s semi-final 2-1 on aggregate so the Chelsea boss will no doubt looking to seek revenge as her time with Chelsea comes to an end – she takes up the role of US national coach at the end of the season.

WSL leaders Chelsea could secure their first trophy of the season this weekend when they play in the League Cup final in Molineaux against Katie McCabe’s Arsenal side.

In the other quarter-final played on Thursday, Tabitha Chawinga, Korbin Rose Albert and Marie-Antoinette Katato scored the goals for Paris against Häcken. Katato was named this week in the France squad to play Ireland in the upcoming EURO 2025 qualifier (see here).

The win sets up an all-French semi-final as French champions and eight time Champions League winners Lyon will play PSG at home in the first leg. The games will take place on 20/21 and 27/28 April with the final set for Bilbao on 25 May.
