FINN HARPS

Finn Harps boss Darren Murphy has called on his side’s support to descend on Finn Park in their numbers for Friday’s clash against Athlone Town (kick-off is at 8pm).

The Co Donegal side welcomed 2,000 fans to the Ballybofey venue last weekend for their 1-1 draw against Cork City.

And after an unbeaten start to the campaign, Murphy is hoping that the good results will keep rolling in the North-West.

“If we get the same support as we did against Cork we’ll be delighted,” he told Finn Harps TV last weekend.

“It’s great to have that - it gives the players such a lift and we’ll need that again.

“We don’t take it for granted and we are leaving everything out on the pitch for them. I just hope it’s dry next Friday evening! I think the people around the county have bought into us looking to buy back into them.

“They hopefully realise what we are. We are a community based club looking to get the community onboard. It’s something we will continue to look at, for as long as I’m here”.

Kevin Jordan, Ryan Rainey, Conor Tourish and Aaron McLaughlin remain out for Harps.

ATHLONE TOWN

Athlone Town boss Dario Castelo wants his side to rise to the challenge when they visit Finn Harps.

Athlone let a 3-1 lead slip away to Cobh Ramblers last weekend at Turner’s Cross to draw 3-3.

And after a week of licking their wounds, they are keen to right those wrongs.

“While we got a point on the road, our team is disappointed that we didn’t get three points,” Castelo said

“It shows the ambition of the squad we have put together.

“We have played very well going forward and I want to see more of the same.”

Jamar Campion-Hinds remains out for the Co Westmeath men.

Referee: Daniel Murphy.
