Luton Town has confirmed the signing of forward Jacob Brown from Stoke City on a permanent basis for an undisclosed sum.

The 25-year-old Scottish international, credited with six international caps, earned the title of Stoke's Player of the Season in the 2021/22 campaign.

After parting ways with Sheffield Wednesday's academy at a young age, Brown took his initial steps with non-league Guiseley's youth division.

His talent caught the attention of League One's Barnsley in 2015. Later, Brown moved to Stoke City in 2020 following a stint at League Two Chesterfield and a role in Barnsley's 2019 Championship promotion.

The forward's exit from Stoke was marked by his 30th goal for the Potters in their 4-1 triumph over Rotherham United in a recent Championship opening match.

Joining Luton as their ninth summer recruit, Brown will don the squad number 19.

Reflecting on his move, an elated Brown said, “It still doesn’t feel real. I’ve known about the interest for a long time... It’s every kid’s dream to play in the Premier League... I’m so grateful and looking forward to it.”

Brown’s enthusiasm for the Premier League is underscored by Luton Town's meteoric rise. He expressed his eagerness to be a part of the club's journey, saying, "The journey the club has gone on... I’m buzzing for it, and I’m just going to work my hardest and give my all for the fans.”

Luton's Manager, Rob Edwards, showered praises on the newest member of the squad. Edwards sees Brown as a versatile player, noting, “Jacob really suits the way we want to play... He can score goals and we want him to be ruthless... We see him as a striker but if we were to change shape, he can play out wide."

He further emphasized Brown's consistent performance, highlighting the 20 goals he secured over the last two seasons while playing majorly from wide positions.
