Having suffered their first defeat of the season last week, losing to Peamount United 1-0 in the league in Tallaght, Shamrock Rovers exerted some modicum of revenge by beating the Peas 2-1.

Rovers scored through a Jaime Thompson penalty and a goal from Lauren Kelly with Chlore Moloney scoring late on for the visitors.

Collie O’Neill handed Summer Lawless a Hoops debut in goal in a competitive game with Amanda Budden named on the bench.

Also named as substitutes were Stephanie Zambra and Lauren McCabe (whose sister and Ireland skipper Katie was in Tallaght to watch the game).
