Former Limerick midfielder Shane Tracy joins Aisling Annacotty

Limerick Junior side Aisling Annacotty have announced the signing of former Limerick FC player Shane Tracy.

The 31 year old joins the club as a player and strength and conditioning coach.

“I’m delighted to be joining one of the most progressive clubs in the country and I’m looking forward to playing a role in developing the talent within the club,” he said in a statement from the club.

Tracy played in the League of Ireland for 12 seasons with his hometown club and won two First Division medals during his time with the Shannonsiders.

The midfielder received a testimonial match in 2017 having first signed for the club in 2008.

He began his career in 2005 when he joined Arsenal from his local club Wembley Rovers.

Tracy remained with The Gunners until 2007 when he was released by the English club, he then returned to Ireland to sign for his only other League of Ireland club Galway United.

His time with The Tribesmen included a brief loan spell with Limerick in 2008 before he finally signed a permanent deal in April 2009.
