Wexford sign former Longford Town forward Patrick O'Sullivan

First Division Wexford have unveiled the acquisition of former Longford Town forward Patrick O’Sullivan.

The 19-year-old Maynooth University student spent the 2018 campaign at Longford, where he made two appearances for the Red and Black.

He signed for Longford’s under-17s for the 2017 season and advanced to the under-19s in 2018.

Last year he signed a dual contract after impressing with the club and he was part of Longford's first team squad, making two senior appearances for De Town, both in the EA Sports Cup.

“I had finished up with the U19s at Longford and Daire (Doyle, Longford first team manager) said I would be better off getting game time and regular minutes so hopefully I can do that here with Wexford,” O’Sullivan said.

“I had spoken to Colum (Feeney) as well. We're both in Maynooth college and he said there was a good set up at Ferrycarrig and a great place for young players, so I was happy to sign.

“Hopefully I will get a good chance to play, starting with Saturday's game with Shels.”

News of O’Sullivan’s signing at Ferrycarrig Park has come shortly after it was confirmed that Malike Hill Benrouguibi has also joined the club ahead of next season.
