Boost for Cobh as David Hurley re-signs for 2020

First Division Cobh Ramblers have been buoyed by the news that midfielder David Hurley has committed to the club for the 2020 campaign.

The 21-year-old commits to another year at the tilt for Stuart Ashton’s charges who have now brought their squad size up to 13 for the upcoming First Division campaign.

He joined the club initially in 2016 from Cork schoolboy club Ringmahon Rangers for the Rams under-19 side.

He then went on to make his Cobh debut in the 2017 season for the then Stephen Henderson managed side.

Since making his debut in 2017, the dynamic midfielder has gone on to make 61 further appearances for the Rams.

In 2018 he was announced as Ramblers Player of the Year – after he helped the club reach an unprecedented EA Sports Cup final.

The UCC student is also an Irish College’s and Universities International, and he told his club’s media team after re-signing; “I’m delighted to be back at St Colman’s Park for another season.

“There’s a strong squad being put together and I’m confident that we can be right up at the top half of the table, pushing for the play-offs and challenging come the end of the season.”
