David Webster joins Ollie Horgan's Finn Harps

Former Pats striker David Webster has been unveiled as Finn Harps latest signing.

Webster is well known in League of Ireland circles having been in the League for the best part of 12 years now at this stage. The tenacious defender began his career in 2008 with Bray Wanderers – a club he stayed with until 2014 when a call from Shamrock Rovers proved too tempting. A spell at Tallaght lasted until 2017 when he moved to Waterford for the solitary season before a similar one season stop at St Patrick’s Athletic was enjoyed in 2018.

Having featured 25 times for Pats last season Ollie Horgan will be pleased to have enticed his man to the North West as his squad look to get their pre-season training underway. “Dave is a very talented player and has a lot of experience under his belt. We might have lost a couple of our more experienced lads over the past month or so but Dave has been around the league a long time and he’ll bring that to the squad. He's up for the fight and we're delighted to have him aboard.”

Webster meanwhile seems to be equally delighted with the move and is looking forward to a new challenge. “I’d like to start off by thanking Ollie and the club for giving me this opportunity. Ollie laid out the challenges ahead and his ambitions for the club to kick on next season and hopefully I can come in and compliment the quality that already exists in the squad. I’m excited for the new season and what we can do.”
