Danny North signs with Barton United

Former League of Ireland striker Danny North has signed for Barton United, a side which currently play in the Northern Counties East League Premier Division.

Barton’s next game is against AFC Mansfield on Saturday with North hoping to be in the squad for the clash at the Easy Buy Stadium.

North began his career at Grimsby, scoring 17 goals in 81 appearances. Ireland was where he called home for a number of years with stints at St Patrick’s Athletic, Sligo Rovers and Shamrock Rovers.

However, in 2017 the Englishman chose to move back home to sign with Cleethorpes Town. It was there that he would notch up 18 goals in 49 appearances as he continued his fine form from the League of Ireland.

North then moved to Lincoln but failed to make a single appearance and has now signed for the Swans with their boss Craig Denton delighted to capture someone of North’s quality.

“I’m really pleased to have got the signature of Danny North. He’s a player who I’ve known about for some time. He has bags of experience and will add vast amounts of quality to our group. It’s important we bring players to the club from the league above, the overall depth of the squad is something I’ve been keen to work on and making it stronger. Welcome to the Swans Danny.”
