Tony McNamee to make Harps return for 2020

Premier Division Finn Harps have confirmed that midfielder Tony McNamee has re-signed for the club ahead of the 2020 campaign.

McNamee returns for another year at Finn Park having impressed with the Co. Donegal side in 2019.

His return ahead of the 2019 season was his first back at the Ballybofey venue since 2016, and he showed little sign of being affected by the lay-off, playing 29 times for Harps.

The 26-year-old joined Harps initially in 2015, before he re-signed for the club ahead of the 2016 season.

Since joining the club, McNamee has made 82 appearances for the Northwest outfit, scoring five goals.

His most recent goal came in the 3-1 defeat away to Sligo Rovers in September.

Manager Ollie Horgan told his club’s media team upon the news of McNamee’s re-signing; “We were delighted when Tony returned at the start of last season and it’s great to have him confirmed again for 2020.

“He’s a good player with a couple of seasons in the Premier under his belt now and that will stand to him going forward. He knows that every game is a battle and that experience will be vital.”
