First Division promotion hunters Drogheda United retain services of Mark Doyle ahead of 2020 campaign

First Division Drogheda United have confirmed that they have retained the services of forward Mark Doyle ahead of the 2020 campaign.

Making his senior debut for the Boynesiders in 2016, Doyle made eight senior appearances for the club in the said campaign while with the clubs under-19s.

The following year, the forward made 16 first-team appearances in his final year at under-19 level – while also scoring is first senior goals.

His first came in a 4 - 0 FAI Cup win over Evergreen while a first league goal arrived in a 2-1 defeat to Derry City.

2018 saw Doyle being taken under the wings of Tim Clancy, where he became a first-team regular at United Park, scoring nine goals in 34 appearances.

Doyle again re-signed for Drogheda in 2019, his fourth season at senior level at the club, recorded his best goal return to date, finding the net 13 times in 31 appearances.

Twelve of those goals came in the league, with the other coming in a FAI Cup tie against Avondale United.

The 21-year-old has 24 goals in 89 appearances for the first team so far and signs back as the thirteenth member of Clancy’s squad for 2020.
