Drogheda confirm re-signing of Conor Kane as Tim Clancy's squad takes shape for 2020
Drogheda United have confirmed that full-back Conor Kane has re-signed for the club after a stellar 2019 campaign.
Kane played a key role as the Boynesiders reached the final of the First Division promotion/relegation playoff.
Tim Clancy’s side were eventually undone by Finn Harps at Finn Park – after they came second in the First Division table.
The 21-year-old made 33 appearances in the 2019 campaign, captaining the side in three of the four playoff games.
Kane joined the Boynesiders ahead of the 2017 season from St Patrick’s Athletic – where he made 25 appearances in his maiden top-flight stint.
He then signed up ahead of the 2018 season under new boss Clancy, making 31 appearances before signing up once more ahead of the 2019 campaign.
The former St Patrick’s Athletic youngster made his senior League of Ireland debut at the Carlisle Grounds in 2017 – in a 2-1 defeat for the Boynesiders away to Bray Wanderers.
