Dundalk v Shamrock Rovers - where can I watch it and what do I need to know?

Dundalk welcome second-placed Shamrock Rovers on Monday night knowing that a win of any stripe will see them crowned champions.

The Lilywhites wrapped up their first trophy of the season, the EA Sports Cup, in Derry a week-and-as-half ago but they’ll be in more familiar surroundings as they look to seal the double.

There’s little to no expectation that Rovers will be able to make up the 12-point gap over the next five games but they will be determined to postpone Dundalk’s celebrations for at least a few days.

Vinny Perth’s side are in a rich vein of form, however, and haven’t tasted a domestic defeat in more than five months and their only domestic home defeat was in the Leinster Senior Cup to Athlone Town.

Rovers had been on a run of seven successive victories before being held to a scoreless draw by St Patrick’s Athletic on Friday night.

Both teams are in FAI Cup action on Friday night, with Dundalk travelling to Sligo and Rovers to Bohemians, but are sure to give full-blooded accounts of themselves regardless.
