Harry Kenny steps down as St Patrick's Athletic manager

St Patrick’s Athletic have announced that they have accepted Harry Kenny’s resignation as manager.

Manager and club part ways with immediate effect following Friday night’s 3-1 FAI Cup second round defeat to UCD.

The 57-year-old is the second manager to depart his club today after Neale Fenn resigned his position at Longford Town.

The Saints are currently fifth in the Premier Division, six points behind third-placed Bohemians and three behind Derry City in fourth.

“St Patrick's Athletic hereby announce that Harry Kenny has resigned from his position as first team manager by mutual consent,” read a statement released by the club.

“Club chairman Garrett Kelleher would like to thank Harry for his professionalism over the last year and in his earlier role as assistant manager.

“Harry would like to thank all involved with St Pats for the support given to him and wishes the club the best of luck in the future.”

Kenny assumed the reigns at the end of the 2018 season and left his job with the FAI/ETB player development course to take up the role full-time.

Kenny was previously assistant to Liam Buckley when the Saints won the Premier Division in 2013, and spent two years in charge of Bray Wanderers before stepping down in 2017.
