Confirming via a statement released on Tuesday afternoon, Cobh Ramblers have confirmed that former assistant manager Stuart Ashton has been named as their interim first-team boss.

Once a player of the club, Ashton joined the club as Henderson’s number two in 2017 before being promoted to the role of first-team boss in the wake of the Dubliner’s departure.

Declan Coleman will also take responsibility of the first-team squad after stepping up from being the club’s under-19 manager.

James Claffey will also play a role in the new coaching ticket at St Colman’s Park having joined the club as a sports psychologist last season.

The club also confirmed that a ‘thorough recruitment process’ will begin in the coming weeks as the First Division strugglers look to identify a permanent replacement for the position as first-team manager.
