Conor Sutton re-joins with Wexford

Wexford have announced the return of Conor Sutton to the club.

The 21 year old was unable to commit to Brian O’Sullivan’s side for the first half of the season due to college commitments but he has been lining out for his local club Curracloe United in the Wexford Football League.

Sutton was voted Wexford player of the year last year despite missing half of the season through injury, making just 17 appearances.

The midfielder made his debut for the club in 2015 under Shane Keegan as Wexford were crowned First Division champions.

He made just one more appearance in the senior side the following season as the side suffered relegation back to the First Division and he’s gone on to make over 30 appearances for the club since.

"Well unfortunately I wasn't really able to commit for the first part of the season and then I got a call off Brian last week when the transfer window opened so I'm delighted to be back to help the team out,” Sutton told the club’s website.

“I've been down here a couple of times already watching the lads and I've been really impressed, I know it was hard at the start of the season, it was a completely new squad really, I think there was only 3 from last season but since the first few results they've really turned it around and hopefully I'll be able to help them out a bit more and try get up the table. It's a nice attractive style of football Brian is playing so I can't wait to get started.”
